Whole & Healing: Embracing Sacred Truth Within — Katy Blackman

Discover the transformative power of healing from a place of wholeness as we embark on a lively conversation about how to approach healing as an inquiry. Our guest, Katy Blackman, shares her wisdom on embracing life as a beautiful unfolding to be met and navigated with responsiveness and patience.

Katy is a devotee of truth and love. Katy has studied and worked with many modalities in the healing arts but it is iRest®, a meditative practice drawn from the ancient teachings of Kashmiri Shaivism, that has woven itself into every corner of her life. She started practicing in 2005 and has been a trained and certified teacher since 2010. In 2015, Katy started spending long periods of each year in ashrams and monasteries to integrate these sacred and supportive teachings more deeply.

Wherever she goes, Katy loves spending time outside in the natural world. Outside sessions, you can find her studying Sanskrit chanting, swimming in the ocean, resting barefoot on mountain rocks, and taking long walks with loved ones.

In this conversation, Katy  and Catherine discuss:

  • The view that the sacred feminine and masculine are united, truly one and whole.
  • The need for a personal inquiry into what is asking for healing .
  • Starting from wholeness and meeting what needs healing.
  • The cultural norm of reality as a plan with goals to be met alongside the lived experience of responsiveness and patience with what is emerging.
  • What is it like to follow and live from truth?
  • Meeting emotions and beliefs as messengers and accessing their wisdom versus something to change or get rid of.
  • Katy’s personal story of building her capacity and spiritual practice over decades.
  • The practice of feeling and welcoming what is.
  • The importance of getting support.
  • What does it mean to find safety within yourself?

Katie generously shares her spiritual growth and capacity-building story over two decades, providing an inside view of her profound spiritual practice.

I hope you enjoy!
