Opening to Your Depths — Meditation

Sometimes the best thing we can do is rest and relax. When we relax, our thoughts and habituated patterns start dissipating, and we can settle into the deeper layers of ourselves. In this deeper state of consciousness, freedom or awakening often arises spontaneously.

The beauty of this practice is that it requires no special methodology or training. It often happens when we least expect it. We all know how to awaken. 

This Opening to Your Depths meditation is about resting beneath it all. Complete rest includes letting go of all forms of mental effort. At the heart of rest is surrender, a letting go of it all. 

Sometimes it is lovely just to let go. I encourage my clients to take time from their everyday lives to just be. It is simple, so it is sometimes difficult to appreciate sitting meditation.

We can commit and dedicate our lives and hearts to letting go of what doesn’t serve us.
